Weekend Surprise!

August 6, 2011

That's right, I've been keeping such a big secret from y'all for a while now...
I'm pregnant with Baby #2!
***
It's why I've been such a slack blog friend lately.
It's why packing my house and putting in on the market was so tiring.
It's why moving to a new town and unpacking was so exhausting.
It's why having a baby girl learning to walk and swim was enough to send me to bed at 8pm.
***
It's why I will NEVER again ask anyone who has kids close in age "if they meant to do it"
***
Wells is going to be a big sister this January, and yes, we are excited and thrilled and wanted our children close in age!

So far everything is going swimmingly.
I can seriously relate to the crazy chicks on I didn't know I was pregnant.
I'm 17 weeks and haven't had even a single solitary symptom.
Before you haters start, remember I have a 12month old and God can only gives us what we can handle.
I could most certainly not handle Wells plus morning sickness.
The exhaustion part I attribute to my sweet girl Wells not this new baby I'm making.
***
They'll be exactly 18 months apart and I know I'm going to have my hands full so any advice from mom's with two is gladly accepted!

  3. Congratulations!! What an exciting time! My first two are 21 months apart, and there are 3 years between #3 and #4. As tiring as it was to have the first two so close, they are such good buddies. You will love it.... most days :)

  4. Congratulations!
Mine are a little farther apart... two years and one week! They are now teens but I wouldn't have done it any other way! It was great to only have to deal with bottles, etc. for a short time. I have never understood those who space theirs out three or more years(on purpose. They end up dealing with all the "baby/toddler" stuff for YEARS!
    Hope everything continues wonderfully!

  18. Ahhh!!!! Congrats! As far as tips, I've got nothing. But, friends of mine who have siblings that close in age always say it was the best. They were so tight and have great relationships with eachother :D

  21. Oh, how I can so relate. Mine are 19 months apart and I didn't have 1 pregnancy symptom either until quite a few weeks in with baby#2. It was a little hard at first, but they are the best of friends and I LOVE that they are close in age, are buddies, and are into the same things. Congratulations pretty mama!

  22. I had 3 daughters within 3 years (all single pregnancies). Now that they are 8, 7 and 5 things have gotten so much easier. They have a blast playing together. The first few years were the hardest (hearing constant "mommy" "mommy" "mommy" and feeling that you can't give each one enough attention. Things get so much easier when they are around 3 and 4. (My husband was also active dute military at the time and gone over 200 days a year) I'm an RN and went to part-time so that I could enjoy my girls. Enjoy each moment, take lots of pictures and strive to give them some one on one time when you have husband or help around.

  27. my boys are 17 months apart by one week. It is a total joy and so much fun, but yes a lot of work. Now that my youngest is almost 1 it is getting so great to see them play so much together! They adore each other and I am sure wells will adore her baby sibling! Best part of having them so close is no sibling rivalry, well not yet at least. Congrats! You are so lucky to be feeling so good, I was not as fortunate!

  29. oH, happy day! Congrats to you! What a wonderful gift! My boys are 22 months apart, and the best thing I did before #2 arrived, was get my first guy potty-trained. Now I only have one in diapers, and number one uses the potty all by himself, with NO help from me-such a big help to mama! Whatever you can do to get your daughter more independent will be immensely helpful, be it getting dressed or getting her own snack. It's a bit of work now, but you'll be ever grateful once you have your hands full with a newborn.
