lamp shades

May 16, 2012

Okay, so here's al little corner of our dining room that I've been trying to overhaul lately.
Sorry for the crappy phone picture (not sure when I'll get around to taking a real picture)
Let's disregard the table skirt that very badly needs to be ironed, as well as the fact that it still needs some trim from when it lived in our entryway and we chatted about it here.
I'm waiting on lampshade decision to then tackle the trim.
Okay, so here's where I need your help
Which lampshade do you like better?
Choices:
#1. Black and White Graphic Floral
#2. White (with black striped trim)
#3. Black (with white striped trim)
#4.  Something entirely different???  Do tell please!

  2. I love the white with black stripe or the black with white stripe. The floral is my least favorite. And girl all I ever use for photos is my Iphone camera:)

  3. White with black! I love the classic look of it, and it is a little less busy so that my eye can enjoy all of the art goodness, great chair etc. The floral shades just take over for me. It is going to look FAB!

  5. Striped trim for sure and I love the yellow lamps! I'm leaning towards white with black but it's a close call!

  8. Depending on the formality of the look you're going for, I'd choose the black with white trim for a slightly more elegant look.

  13. I think black with white trim. The floral shade looks a little too big for the space. Would look great with the zebra fabric you have on the other chair. Perhaps just use one of the lamps also so it is not too crowded?!?! But then again what do I know? I am curently living in an apartment completely furnished by Ikea for the meantime. Hope for the new house soon :)

  15. White lampshade with a ribbon trim. I think the black lampshade is too bold for all of the other colors. My opinion :) good luck :)

  16. I'm leaning towards the black with white stripe just because it provides a bit of contrast from the wall color. Or how about a tan linen shade with white trim?

  17. I vote for black with white trim. OR, what about white with multiple black stripes?

  18. I say white with black stripe. That table might also look really cute with a black tablecloth.

  19. Definitely option #3 (black with trim). I might even go with option #4, but that's mainly due to my fear of yellow & black and looking like a bumble bee.

  20. I would generally choose the white with the black stripe, but since you're going to add trim to the table skirt I would go with the patterned fabric.

  27. I vote black with white stripe. Classic BUT with a twist! And a black and white greek key trim would definitely pull it all together!

  28. White with navy or yellow trim. I also love the hombre look that Martha Steward did.

  29. #1. Black and White Graphic Floral so it won't look too matchy-matchy when you add a stripe to the table skirt. Plus, the floral makes a big statement in a small way. :)
