Marsh Painting Giveaway

May 2, 2012

I was so excited when Ashley contacted me about hosting a giveaway with one of her original paintings.
She had several paintings she's currently working on as well as a few for sale in her Etsy Shop, The Bodie Houston Gallery, but this 11x14 marsh scene was my favorite.
Y'all know I have a soft spot in my heart for the marsh and those bright colors are so cheerful.

In Ashley's own words, "I run a small gallery on the side of my *day job* called the Bodie Houston Gallery. My style is definitely coastal and southern.  I love painting coastal marshes and landscapes."

Here's a picture of the painting displayed in Ashely's home until a lucky reader wins.
What a gorgeous addition to a gallery wall or standing alone framed in a giant gaudy-in-a-good-way gold frame.

Okay, who wants to win it?

  53. This pic would definitely go in my office! The bright colors would match perfectly! I love this painting. As an artist myself, I love to see real, raw talent with painters that can actually paint something real...not just throw a bunch of paint on a canvas, call it abstract and sell it for way more than it's worth! This is a beautiful piece.

  54. I happened upon your blog not long ago and its name INSTANTLY got my attention. I was fortunate enough to spend an amazing summer living/working at Pawley's Island while in college. While that was many moons ago, just thinking about those three glorious months makes my heart heavy. (In fact, I'm pretty sure that the thought crossed my mind more than once to ditch Chapel Hill and take up full-time employment at the Hammock Shops instead! :) Obviously, Ashley's beautiful work would have tremendous sentimental value for me. If I can no longer be on "the creek", this would be the next best thing....
