navy chesterfield sofas

May 10, 2012

So I told y'all my sister's house is going to be insane.
And we all agreed her powder room wallpaper was sick.
Well, here is where we've left off with the front hall sitting area.
The walls are two shades of restoration hardware grey and the focal point is a big stone fireplace.
There's a perfect little nook for a sitting area and she wants a navy velvet chesterfield sofa.
Lori helped her narrow it down to these two.
Oh so similar, yet oh so different, right.
well, oh so not the same couch anyway.
Which do you prefer?
#1 or #2
???

  1. Ooooh that is a tough choice. I would have to go with option one. Appears to be a little more neutral. Love this. Why aren't you decorating my house??? You decorista you.

  2. I kind of like couch number one!! It seems bigger and a more snugly material!! My next couch will be gray and will be tufted!! ;) can't wait to see her house all done!

  3. Well I love both in a major way but I am leaning towards number two. Your sister is seriously lucky.

  4. I like number one, and I'm SO jealous!!! I have been in our house nearly 5 months and have not been able to do anything yet. Is your sister doing gray trim and gray walls??? I'm really into the walls and trim being close to the same these days...

  8. Umm, yeah, her house is going to be insane! I love that pillow. I wonder which sofa would fit better in the space?

  9. If they're both being covered in navy velvet, I would go for #2. I like the legs better and love that detail of the covered buttons along the front of the sofa!

  10. Agreed on the wallpaper = sick. I don't know why but I'm really liking option #1. I really think your sister can't go wrong either way though!

  11. Since the fabric will be heavy (in both material and color), I would go with #1 since it looks a little more streamline. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

  15. #1 is my pick for a few reasons. It is a classic piece, but the dimensions it offers updates the classic couch to contemporary times; it's more long and lean than the other. Also, it appears that all of the legs are decorative rather than just the front ones (pet peeve!).

The second one looks more (for lack of a better word) "grandma" to me.

Love the combo of grey, pink, and navy!

  16. Love number 1 and love navy, such a classic color that goes with so much! Do you mind sharing where they're from? We've been looking at one from Arhaus and I'm wondering if either of these are a better value. : )
