Fall Fashion: Riding Boots

September 26, 2012

Look I'm loving fall edition:  Short Dresses and Riding Boots
So I'm officially obsessed with tall riding boots worn with dresses.
Such a classic look and perfect for when it's not quite hot enough in the afternoon to pull on jeans and sweater too.
I've been eyeing these Paige Riding Boots from Frye for years but have always found a less expensive comparable option to buy instead.  But I think this year I might bite the bullet.  I don't want trendy boots, I want some that I will love for years to come.  To pull on each fall (at least in my thirties, my decade of fall) and remember it's time to pull out the blankets and go pick pumpkins.
What boots do you own?
Do you love them?
Do you think it's worth the $388 plus tax for boots?
*all the other colors in this style are $350 but of course the color I like is more*
Do you have a pair?  Do they last forever like they claim?

  1. I love this look too! And, yes, I think the boots are worth the money. They are definitely wardrobe workhorses that will just get better with age! I have a pair of Frye and I love them.

  2. My Frye's are the best purchase I have ever made. Wear and tear only makes them look better and they are so comfortable!

  3. I bit the bullet this summer and got them, as I've been getting the cheap boots for awhile. I saved and saved and am SO happy with the results. I love them and they are totally worth the splurge!

  5. I just got the TB riding boots :) I love these from Frye as well. I have done the same thing and bought less expensive trendy boots in the past but they never hold up and I've never been truly happy with them. I say bite the bullet & get them!

  6. I love this look. Were you able to find out were dress number 2 is from? I love it! Also, do you know where the white tunic shirt is from? I have leggings and need longer shirts, but can't find any cute ones right now.

  7. I have two pairs of Fryes and have been hinting to my hubby that these are on my Christmas list. The brand is amazing, you will not regret it! If you want a little discount, go onto Piperlime and register your email (or your hubby's if yours is alreayd registered) and you will get a 15% discount code for your first purchase.

  10. I think its worth the investment for good quality boots. I have always bought cheapy pairs and the soles end up seperating, the leather gets weird, or my feet end up wet.
Go for it! You won't regret it.

  11. My mom has a pair of fab riding boots that she got in THE 70s and they still look great. She wears them all the time. Totally worth the investment!

  13. I think you'd get so much use out of them. I'd go for it. Said the woman who went back and forth over spending an extra $20 the day before ;)

  14. Oh I love long boots. Living in the UK, our autumn is not only cold but quite often wet...and I wouldn't be without my boots. I have both a flat (riding style) pair and a more elegant heeled pair - so I'm covered for weekends, work and dressier events. I paid around £200 per pair for my boots and they were well worth the investment. They have had so much wear and are still looking great (I've been wearing the older pair now for 4 years)!

  15. Love them. Bought a medium brown pair of riding boots last year and basically never took them off. Mine aren't Frye, but the Frye ones are such a beautiful quality and I think you'd have them for years. Worth the investment for something that is so versatile and you will wear all the time!!

  16. I've loved those exact boots for a while now! I found a pair of gently used Cole Haan riding boots on Ebay a few years ago and I adore them. They're so comfy and I know I'll have them for a very long time. Classic is always the way to go and I definitely think the extra money would be worth it!

  18. I bought the Jane style from Frye last year. Shoes.com had a 20% off with free shipping. They have a little more heel which makes them a smidge more dressy, imo. Great quality. Get 'em.

  19. Definitely worth the splurge! You deserve it...and plus, you will feel good every time you wear them. If you settle for something less and not really what you want, you will be wishing they were the FRYE's every time you wear the others!

Plus, consider them an investment. You can wear them for years to come...and they will get better with age!

  20. Go for it!! You will not regret it as if you consider your CPW (cost per wear) it will pay off in the long run - say you wear them 40 times in the next 6 months, it equals out to about $10 per wear, at that is just this year. Spread it out over the fact that you will have them a lifetime and it is worth it. If I was stuck with just one boot it would be my Frye boots. And I swear the older they get the better they look!

  21. I don't think I could stomach that price tag for boots but they are darn cute.

  22. I say go for it- my mom still has her Frye boots from the 70s!! I wore this look to work pretty much every day last year- it's the perfect transition!

  23. So funny it is the one thing that I am really wanting to splurge on this fall. I have high heal ones that I love but not low.

  24. Love your blog! I just purchased some Frye boots today from Bloomingdale's. They were 20% off with the code FRIENDS12 and free shipping as well. The promotion lasts til October 1. :)

  25. Love this look too and I say yes boots are worth it. Most of mine I have had for years and they hold up well!

  26. I love some good boots! Hey quick question when will we find out who won that INPINK giveaway!?

  27. I say DO IT!! Got these exact boots last year and lived in them!!

  28. I have a pair of frye boots and they are worth every penny. They are seriously the most comfortable boots-ever!! And they will wear down and you will need to take them to get fixed. If you don't know a good cobbler that knows what he's doing then they are a waste of money.
