Bedrooms

March 12, 2013

So I spent a good bit of time yesterday working on my master bedroom and just couldn't come up with anything I liked.  I think I tried adding in too much.  Too much color and too many accessories.  I decided I need to take a step back and remember that this is something I've struggled with before.  I want that wow factor in my head, but in reality I just want somewhere peaceful and easy to sleep.  I'm getting back to basics and showcasing some of the original inspiration for this challenge.  I hope that helps me to stay focused today when I finish up some bed styling to showcase tomorrow.

  3. I have this problem, too. I just never know when to stop. It is really hard to be objective on your own space. You'll get it right.

  7. I do the same thing to myself all the time. It's soooo frustrating. I remember having the same problem years ago when I was hunting for a wedding gown (I worked in bridal at the time so that made it worse). I got so distracted by all the glitzy that I forgot what it was I wanted in the beginning. Thankfully I pulled my head out of my ass at the end or I would have looked like a hot mess :D Lord, that doesn't even make any sense.... I either need more coffee or to go back to sleep.

  9. That is such a good idea to go back to inspiration pictures and remember the end-goal. There are just so many beautiful designs, sometimes it's hard to narrow it all down. I love the direction you're going in your room…I hope it's giving you the feel you were striving for!

  10. These are beautiful rooms, and yours has bones just like these! It's hard to err on the side of more simple, but these do.. Best tip is to put something over the bed and photograph it and look at it more objectively..later. Good luck! You'll make it amazing Im sure of it!
