Current Obsessions

I'm currently obsessed with spring florals and bright colors.  What about you?  I'm sure it's the beautiful weather we're finally having and all the flowers blooming around me.
Quick update on Tagg for those who were asking, his eczema is infected.  Poor poor baby.  We're battling through it over here and treating the awfulness.  This isn't something I've talked about before on here before but Tagg has some of the worst eczema out there.  I've got lots of good advice for anyone else who feels helpless treating their child.

  1. I am always loving bright fresh colors. I recently found and orange tote that I love and it was steal at JCP.
I'd love to know your eczema tips. I actually use Noxzema and it works better than cortisone for me.

    1. I use a combo of elidel and clobex lotion for myself depending on the severity. I've been really happy with Curel Anti-itch Defense lotion for every day moisturizing.

  3. My little one had ecsema so bad that it ended up giving her a minor staph infection. This sounds absolutely insane but give him a lukewarm bath with a quarter cup of bleach (I started with an 1/8 cup because it sounded so crazy to me). When you get him out, immediatly cover him in antibacterial cream and hydrocortisone (we got prescription strength that worked wonders) then cover him in cerave cream (it comes in a big jar at any drugstore). Do this every day until the infection goes away and then continue with the cerave after every day. I know it sounds insane but it cleared her right up and her ecsema has been manageable ever since. The cerave is truly miraculous.

    1. Thanks so much for sharing! Sadly, our derm said his staff infection and eczema was too bad for a bleach bath. We're doing three lukewarm soapless baths a day and applying triamcinolon ointment on body and desonide on face and underarms. Then aquafor applied on top followed by body wrap in moist cotton. All must be completely in under three minutes! It's a marathon with my 2.5 year old watching from the tub! We'll be able to drop back to regular eczema treatment once the severe inflammation goes down. I'm going to call and ask about adding salt to the bath because he screams when he hits the water. I've also heard great things about Curel Anti-itch defense applied over hydrocortisone works wonders for maintenance.

  10. Sterling had the worst eczema. Like it would scab up and be bloody. It was bad. As he has gotten older it has gotten better but I know the summer months are the worst. What do you use? We ended up getting a prescription of this peanut oil that actually works crazy good. I love that Rachel Pally maxi, major.

  13. My lil guy has it too, ugh it's so sad and so groose too! We use Dermasmooth script and Aveeno Excema lotion. I also find he does a lot better in humid temps so sometimes I run a humidifier. I hope he feels better soon!
