Favorite Living Room Round-up

April 9, 2013

I'm pretty exciting about the prospect of having a more formal living room with limited access to my children and their sticky fingers.  Something feminine and pretty with perfectly styled vignettes.  Not exactly family room material.  But perfect for drinking a glass of wine.  I'm especially drawn to light colored rugs and walls with a gold mirrors, sconces, and coffee tables.  I like and almost entirely neutral scheme with one standout pattern either through fabric on a chair or window panels or even a large piece of art.

Want to join me and swoon for minute?

  1. I so wish we had a more formal living room too. I would sit in there all the time and quietly sip wine. Love how light and airy all the rooms are you posted. I guess this means you got the house?

  2. I drool over formal living rooms and actually attempt to keep one at my house but Mr Soldier and my children constantly remind me why it is a horrible idea right now haha

  3. I know I know! Im waiting for the kids to get a little older so I can turn their downstairs playroom into an office/play area - bc we'll never use the office anyway) so that I can have my big room up front open to turn into a pretty and girly formal sitting space.

  11. We have a formal living room in our new house- it's still empty but I can't wait to decorate it with fancy grown up furniture that will hopefully stay clean and dog free.

  19. I'm looking at my couch right now, it's so nasty, and I'm partially sitting on toys. The thought if my own beautiful space that hasn't been hit by a kid bomb sounds amazing.
