The perfect lady-like day dress

It's no secret that I love stripes.  I dress pretty simple for the most part and stripes are my way of being bold.  I'm not really into overly trendy clothes, I prefer a more classic look.  I also tend to gravitate toward black and white because I like the option to accessorize with colors.  I make it a point never to buy something that can't be worn for more than one type of occasion.

So when I saw this black and white striped dress last week at Nordstrom I knew I had to buy it.  The lady-like silhouette and thick jacquard fabric are super flattering. The fit and flare style just really works with my body type.  I wore this dress to Church and brunch last Sunday and again this week to a work meeting.

I've spent the last few years stocking up on child-friendly clothes and it's fun to splurge on more grown-up pieces once in a while.  I've been pretty back and forth emotionally about going back to work and picking up some new clothes is definitely helping to swing me in a more excited direction.  I like putting on a simple dress and heels and feeling polished.

Besides being the perfect little day-time dress in the front, it has a little bit of unexpected sass in the back making it the perfect transition from office to date night.  The cut-out is small and tasteful and I can still wear a normal bra.  Perfection.
