Gin + Tonic Bar

September 14, 2015

My new art print, going for a swim, from Minted arrived while we were at the beach and as soon as I opened it up I knew the perfect spot for it.  I started drinking gin + tonic with a lime while on vacation last week and I knew I wanted to create a little drink station at home.  Summer drink + summer memories. A perfect combination for an empty little corner in our living room.

So far I prefer the Hendrick's over the Bombay Sapphire but have yet to try the Tanqueray.  Looks like I've got a reason to pour a cocktail tonight!  All in the name of research, of course.  I squeeze half a lime in and it tastes just like a non-sweet limeade.  Yum.  I've been mixing with Schweppes but curious if you have any other tonic water you'd recommend trying out?  I might drive over to Homegoods or World Market and see if I can find some fancy looking bottles.  I'm a sucker for a good label.

Also, how pretty are those hand stamped cocktail napkins?  I bought a set of four from my girl Emily last year.  She is crazy talented and I am hoping she lists more for sale before Christmas.  They'd make a great gift.  She creates the most awesome hand stamped chinoiserie inspired goodies.

We spent the entire summer at the pool and I loved it.  I grew up swimming and pictures of the water always intrigue me.  I love this modern take on that.  Y'all know I love photography as well and I just can't get enough of Minted's photography art prints.  Check out a few more of my favorites below.

  1. try fever-tree premium indian tonic water, it's amazing, you'll never go back! we also like hendrick's and tonic with a grapefruit squeeze/wedge, instead of lime - really refreshing!

  6. Love me a gin and tonic! I love all you girls with young ones with your alcohol on full display. Just wait till you have teens and you are keeping it under lock and key! Yep, that's where I am. Oh, and I am also where my righteous teens start telling me how many glasses of wine or gin and tonics I have had……..I blame them.

    1. Ahh! Yes, score one for the littles who happily tell me to have some more coffee or wine at every turn like a magic elixir that will fix all....oh wait! Now, when I go to pour a drink one day and it's water I will immediately lock that shit up and call my parents to apologize #circleoflife ha!!

  7. Glad you're on the gin and tonic train! Beefeaters is a classic and has always been my favorite since that's what my grandparents drank every night before dinner. A routine I sometimes follow!

  9. I also vote for Fever Tree. You can get elderflower tonic on Amazon - so delish. Also, I like St. George gin. Bevmo carries a small 3 pack taster, I prefer the Botanivore of the three. Cheers!
