Welcome back! We're already here at the final reveal for the One
Room Challenge; where 20 bloggers each tackle the design and
installation of one room over six weeks. It's exhausting. It's
exhilarating. You know you love it.
I'm been turning the sun room in our new house into a bonafide playroom. My
goal was to create a space that's fun for the kids and eye-pleasing for
the adults. I want my little babes' imaginations to run wild in here
along with their toys. It's a blessing to have this space to use during the
day but be able to close the door on the mess at night. But because it's on the
first floor just off our formal living room it needs to be a space that
can be accessed when we entertain. I want our friends to feel welcome when they come over with their kids.
As always, I'm letting the pictures give the tour and I'll come back in future posts to discuss details and answer any questions y'all have about sources or tutorials. Needless to say our whole family is loving this new space!

This is so, so adorable! You have done an outstanding job. I love all the little details such as the tray on the play kitchen and the silver tea set. It looks awesome.

ReplyDeleteI love your variety of rugs and the extra seating you could easily use for adult gatherings. And as for the kid-friendly vibe it's perfect! So colorful and inviting but not too perfect that a kid would be afraid to touch things.

Love the wicker set and your pillows, AND YOUR KIDS! This is a wonderful room that will be the heart of your home. I want that teepee for myself.

Julia could this room be any cuter and yet stylish and pulled together at the same time? It seems the perfect spot to have a cup of coffee with friends while your little ones play together. I love how you brought real furniture and pretty textiles into the space, and touches like the green mirror make it feel like a space for the whole family, not just the munchkins. Hope you and your family enjoy it so much over the years!
ReplyDeleteSo fun! I would hang out there and I don't even have littles anymore! You did a great job of creating a fun, yet sophisticated space. It is both kid friendly and comfy. The tepee is a great addition, I think that is where I would hang out!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful space! Love how you made it visualy pretty yet I feel any kid would feel comfortable playing here! Question for you, at the end of they day was it worth making your own Tepee or would you just buy one already finished? Most projects I start the supplies end up costing as much as the finished product! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLove it!! The tepee + the lulu and Georgia rug is the show stopper. I also love Mr elephants new home! He makes a big impact there. Looks like the babes are settled right in which I'm sure is the best feeling :)

ReplyDeleteThey're plastic animal cracker bins from Sams Club. I removed the label, and popped on a chalkboard label and sprayed the tops black :)
