New House: Bathroom Plans

July 18, 2013

 _______________________________________________________________________

The last update on our master bathroom is still the current update.  There just isn't room in the budget for a total renovation so we'll have to make do for a while with what we've got.  The tile is a nice white and in really great shape so once we get the wallpaper removed it's going to be a dramatic change.  I'm planning on painting the sink console as well.  Maybe a dark navy?  Maybe charcoal gray?  I think something dark for sure so it will contrast nicely with the white and still go with the green border tile.  I love that detail on the wood so I'll be sure to keep that white.

I love that in a bathroom, just a a few accessories can make a huge difference!  I prefer nice clean lines and spa-like colors with just a little bit of pattern.

  3. Love the simple ideas. I kind of have a soft spot for that kind of vintage floor tile. It was in everyone's bath when I was little and less vintage.

  4. I like where you're going with this! Lucky that you have good looking tile. We inherited a lot of beige, that is in great condition, unfortunately. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

  18. Love the shower curtain (is similar to mine) .. the blue and white is timeless. There are so many fun accessories out. The baskets will come in handy and the Container Store always has wonderful clear, acrylic containers. Have fun!

  20. It's going to look like a completely different space after you get your hands on it! Love the plan. And how lucky are you to be working with a white toilet, tub and tile? (I have "bisque" - yuck!)

  22. I would flip the idea with the navy and white. Paint the vanity base white to match the tiles for a continuous light bottom half of the bath. Then strip the wallpaper and paint the top of the walls the navy. You could move that mirror to a workout area or dressing room, and replace it with a pair of medicine cabinets. Three sconces could light the sides and middle between the cabinets. And plenty of the navy would show above the sinks.
